Nadia

This is the Estuarine Mermaid Nadia I created for the Daughter of the Moon series by , a little preview on who Alizyn will meet in the near future.

Nadia the estuarine mermaid was well liked by the people of Chioita because of her spunky nature, regularly bow riding many of the fishing boats of Tolem bay and even helping herd fish into the fisher mans nets for a little bit of the catch. However she also got attention unknowingly by the less savory variety of people. One day while she was enjoying sunning herself on the northern shore she was suddenly jumped on by by a grizzled fisherman, her struggle was halted when a large knife was held to her throat, she was then raped by the man.

He said, "If you tell anyone about this consider yourself dead..." by the man as he walked off. Crawling back to the water she distanced herself from human contact for a while before eventually other mermaids told her messages of her land dwelling friends wondering where she was. Reluctantly she finally returned to the shore, and gave them the excuse that she wasn't feeling well or was too busy lately. However whenever she noticed the fisherman that raped her she quickly said she had to go whenever she was talking to her friends. Living in fear: one day she decided she had enough...

For the next decade she dedicated herself to growing by eating large fish, and also got practice... Eventually after her out of control diet and constant training she grew to the size of twenty five feet. She knew what she was planning to do and was actually looking forward to it. She then began to stalk the fisherman, though was too scared to attack him despite her size.

After nearly a month she got enough courage while stalking him, a fog worked to her advantage as to conceal what was about to happen. The fisherman who thought he was safe from the estuarine mermaid suddenly fell over as a hole was put in the hull of his boat. Working frantically to keep his boat from sinking he was suddenly grabbed by Nadia who slammed him into the water. He almost immediately recognized her and immediate drew his blade as she brought him closer to her face with her hands on his sides. Seeing the knife she feared for so long a wave of terror overcame Nadia. This pause allowed the fisherman to slash her right eye causing the mermaid to reel in pain.

After letting the man go and holding her eye, a wave of rage overwhelmed the terror she felt before. He managed to get to the surface for a gasp of air before suddenly being dragged beneath the waves once again and thrashed around by the enraged mermaid until he dropped his knife. Once she saw the object she feared sink into the depths she dislocated his shoulders and immediately shoved the man into her mouth. After swallowing many times and forcing the struggling man down her throat with her fingers (It definitely wasn't easy...) she finally managed to swallow him, her stomach expanding much like a human female late in her pregnancy. With a accomplished feeling she surfaced floating on her back, and let out a victorious laugh regardless of her hurting jaw.

She felt much pleasure from his suffering, and grew sadistic as she uprighted him in her stomach to prolong his agony. It took her a couple days to digest him fully though a sense of guilt loomed over her even though she killed her nemesis, Chioita lost a provider, and she ate a human... Something she wouldn't have dreamed on doing before what happened to her. She then vowed to take his place and provide Chioita with fish. However the irony of this story, is she became sort of a prisoner of Tolem bay due to her size, she was unable to get past the kelp barrier unless she was carried by a Krait naga over land. Though she was content to stay there, now blind in one eye she regarded the outside world as too dangerous. The knife she once feared didn't kill her, but did alter her life.

The fisherman was declared lost at sea, his body was never found but the mermaids of Tolem bay found his sunken boat.
After a while she had a outfit crafted for her, saying the scar on her cheek and her clouded eye was a result of trying to tackle a dangerous fish. Eventually due to now having a blind spot she was provided with a pistol like spear gun for fishing, which she's gotten very adept at using. The tattoo on her stomach means two things: Where her nemesis ended up and a reminder to herself never again consume a human.
The fisherman's demise remains a guarded secret to this day with her.

Nadia has become a regular at The Drunken Mermaid tavern on the waterfront of Chioita. Sometimes she needs a drink to fall asleep, as her memories tend to haunt her at times. Regardless of her past she maintains a somewhat cheerful and open attitude towards others despite her appearance.
