Chapter 1
---------

It was a calm day in the village of Najalka, clouds drifted slowly across the sky as the fisherman of the village began returning with their catches. The variety of small sailing  vessels were often laden with the bounty of the Olaniya sea. Najalka was a reletively small village with a population over a hundred, the village, however wasn't the dominant feature. On the high ground above the village a large stone temple was seen, long ago it was built by the ancestors of the villagers, and it was built around the most reconizable feature in Najalka: a black thin tower. Towering three hundred meters above the village the tower was of a ancient technology, the villagers knew little of this mysterious tower, it seemed to lack entryways and remain dormant for generations, that was about to change.

It was later in the day when suddenly the tower activated again, an array of lights lit up on tower and it began to hum softly. The villagers startled with the sudden activity of the tower just watched in awe as the tower began to change. Higher up on the tower panels dormant for ages opened and began to circle the tower, slowly they began to gather energy as electrical discharges began arcing town the tower. Eventually a massive energy discharge concentrated itself near the base of the tower inside the stone temple, the villagers shielded their eyes as the inside of the temple glowed a brilliant white, then as soon as it happened the glow vanished. The tower began to shut down, the humming stopped and the panels clicked back into place. Hesitantly the villagers began to make their way to the temple...

Nahal a strong looking man in his mid-twenties was the villages chief and led the rest towards the temple, harpoon in hand. Upon entering the temple they were met with a mysterious sight, a egg.. A egg which seems like even a adult can fit in. Silently he stared at the egg as the villagers began to shout out "What kind of egg is that?!" "Is it a sea monsters egg?" "What should we do if it hatches?" Nahal looked up at the old murals of the temple depicting a human figure with a snake tail instead of legs, fighting a smaller human who wielded terrible powers. He turned to the crowd gathering behind him "Call the wise one immediately!"

Gakiri a frail old man garbed in a robe was soon seen being escorted by some of the villagers, slowly he made his way to the temple's interior where Nahal and his wife Kuela awaited him. "My, My...what a sight to see....", he chuckled as he made his way to the large egg. "Gakiri..do you know if you could you see what is inside this egg?" Nahal asked impatiently. "Now, Now...don't rush me, I will see in due time..." Gakiri replied and chuckled again as he placed his hand on the egg. "Youngsters these days..." he grinned as he slowly began chanting under his breath. Nahal and the villagers watched quietly as Gakiri chanted, the suddenly a glow flashed from his hand and made a wave around the egg, Gakiri's eyes then went wide. "Gakiri..what is it?" Nahal asked, a unsure look on his face. "This is....This is...." Gakiri muttered as he shook, he then threw his hands out "This is surely a gift from the gods!" he screamed out, "The same kind that saved our ancestors, the same kind that is upon the walls of this very temple!" Gakiri turned to the villagers with renewed vigor "That is what sleeps within the shell of this egg, the serpent maiden has returned!!!"

Nahal got a surprised look on his face from Gakiri's outburst as the villagers began to murmur among themselves "Serpent Maiden?" "They actually existed?" As this happened Gakiri beckoned Nahal and Kuela away from the crowd "I want you two to raise the Naga that is to hatch from this egg, that is the race of the serpent maidens..." Nahal and Kuela could only stare at Gikiri in disbelief, "You want us to raise the Serpent Maiden?" Nahal finally asked. Gakiri grinned "Being the village chief, its your duty to raise that which will become the village guardian..." Nahal
rubbed his forehead as he turned to Kuela, "Kuela what do you..." his question was cut short as he saw Kuela with sparkling eyes and her hands folded against her cheek, "The serpent maiden is going to be my daughter too......." Nahal just sighed. "Very well Gakiri...we'll raise a fine daughter for this humble village..." Nahal responded. Gakiri still grinning nodded, "Be sure that you do...the last Serpent Maiden didn't care what she ate...people included from what I heard." Kuela snapped out of her trance "Don't worry we'll show her so much love that she wouldn't even think of something like that!" Gakiri just nodded again and chuckled, as Nahal looked over at the huge egg thinking "What have I gotten myself into?"

Gakiri turned to the villagers "Let us prepare, we need to get ready for a new daughter of Najalka!!" In a short time Nahal was directing the villagers, and carefully they loaded the large egg onto a cart and secured it. Slowly the villagers transported the egg laden cart through the crowds of villagers watching the scene, many were already cheering and lively as word of the return of the Serpent Maiden has spread through the village. Eventually the cart made its way to Nahal's larger house in the village. "We need to find a spot to keep the egg warm, any blankets
anyone can spare!" Gakiri demanded. Within moments a flood of blankets made its way to Nahal's house, many served as the base for inclubating the egg as Kuela and several of the village women set it up in the main room. Carefully a crew of the village men removed the egg from its cart,  as Nahal removed the sliding door from his house, they carried the egg in and gently placed it on the base of blankets. Within moments the egg was covered with the extra blankets that didn't form the base, smiling broadly Gakiri thanked the villagers "You all have done well, thanks to your efforts this village will have a new daughter, serpent maiden and guardian! This is indeed a blessed day! It won't be long for her to enter this peaceful world..." Nahal looked at Gakiri, "Not long?" he asked, Gakiri just continued to smile "Shes fully developed, we just need to wait for her to wake up!" he said with a laugh. Nahal just looked at the lump of blankets as Kuela sat next to it running her hands along it "Looks like we need to get ready to welcome her." Kuela
said with a cheerful smile.

The next few days the egg sat under the warmth of the blankets, Kuela rarely left the eggs side her maternal instincts in overdrive, Nahal had to put up with more visitors than usual not being able to do his usual fishing routine. It was a week after the egg appeared during the night that Kuela noticed the egg starting to move under the blankets "Dear its time! Its hatching!!" she screamed as she began removing the blankets covering it. Nahal quickly woke up from his slumber on the floor and got to his feet, the look of anticipation on his face. The egg continued to
shake back and fourth for a while "We should help her hatch..." Kuela said looking to Nahal. Nahal nodded silently and started gently tapping on one point of the egg as it eventually began to crack. Moments later a hand shot out from the cracked portion grabbing onto Nahal's arm, it clearly wasn't the arm of a normal baby. Kuela surprised helped grabbing onto the arm and pulling as Nahal began peeling away more of the eggshell. As sticky ooze poured from the ever enlarging hole, a form began to appear. A head with pure white hair, already at shoulder length, long pointed ears, and bright  yellow eyes devoid of pupils stared at the two as her second arm reached out. Her body was already fairly matured, being simular to a girl of the age of ten, then finally with a final pull her long snake tail with black, bluish-grey, and white stipes slid out. Kuela fell on her rear as the newborn naga landed on her front, catching its breath it looked up staring at Kuela before continuing to rest. Kuela covered in ooze from the newborn naga smiled up at Nahal who was some-what stunned from the sight "Bring some of the blankets over, we need to wipe her off..." she said.

After a while of wiping the ooze off the naga, she stared up at Kuela, her eyes like the sun itself were piercing. Kuela just smiled and gently wrapped her arms around the hatchling and smiled down at her, she then looked up at Nahal who was smiling. Nahal just nodded and Kuela looked back down at the Naga "Welcome home little Negeyari..." she said with a smile, Negeyari just continued to stare then eventually a smile appeared on her face followed with a giggle. Nahal noticed the small fin on the nagas tail "A water naga and a fishing village, its almost like she was meant for our village..." he said as he kneeled next to Kuela and Negeyari. The
naga looked at him a little confused at first then smiled again and continued to giggle, he placed his strong hand on her head. "Welcome to the world my daughter Negeyari..." he said with a smile. Negeyari the Sea Krait Naga's new life began that night in the small fishing village of Najalka.
Finally began Negeyari's story!

The peaceful village of Najalka, theres a legend from many years ago that the village was saved by a Serpent Maiden.

Unexpectedly the arrival of a second Serpent Maiden has occurred, though a bit differently.

fun fact negeyari was born fully developed because she hatched from an egg instead of live birth
